Indonesia
Developed and managed the security program for a U.S. Fortune 100 international oil company that was producing and transporting natural gas and converting it into Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) in a remote province of Indonesia. Production facilities were both on and off shore.
At the time, this area was the site of the longest running insurgency in Asia. Fighting had been ongoing for nearly 20 years and pitted a formidable Islamist group against the more secular national government.
Managed security resources included over 3,200 Indonesian military personnel; 300 private security guards; and ground, air and sea transportation assets. The security threat included planned attacks against fixed company installations and ground convoys. An active piracy threat also existed off shore.
During the three year period of the project, there were no lost-time incidents due to security issues. This record was achieved primarily through tightly enforced policies and procedures, thorough training, and constant development of operational intelligence.
